Ely Cathedral was buzzing this week with business people who had all donated their time for the benefit of students from Bishop Laney sixth form.
The event was organised by the Ely Cathedral Business Group and Bishop Laney Sixth Form who worked together to provide 40 students with a valuable experience designed to develop their interview skills.
Lis Every, City of Ely, District and County Councillor & Chair of the Learning and Skills Sector of Chamber of Commerce.
After a read through of our allocated students’ CVs we were all given a briefing by the leader of the sixth form, Adam Steels, and then battle commenced. Students arrived looking smart, well prepared and confident, a real credit to the sixth form.

Each student had two interviews, followed by feedback - discussing points like body language, technique, handling tricky questions and CV critique. In the competitive work environment which young people will enter, experience of interview situations can give them the extra confidence they need.
