Behind the Scenes Visit to Global Packaging Giant
DS Smith welcomed Councillors for fascinating tour
Global leading packaging company, DS Smith welcomed councillors and officers from East Cambridgeshire District Council to their packaging division in Fordham recently, to experience a guided tour of their premises and understand the operational scale of work undertaken from their branch within the district.
The visit, which took place on Friday 29th June forms part of a wider effort from the council to meet with a range of businesses from across the district and see their facilities first-hand.
The agenda for the visit included a behind the scenes look at the production area, where the visitors were given earphones to hear the live commentary.
Councillor Steve Cheetham, Service Delivery Champion for Economic Development at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “D S Smith is a huge name in the global packaging industry and we are really proud to have them based here in our District. Organisations such as these really help put East Cambridgeshire on the map as a great place to do business and we feel privileged to have had an access all areas tour!”
