East Cambridgeshire Business Boost 2018

Activate your sales, energise your team, move up the Google rankings, perform your best!

East Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce are pleased to announce the second East Cambs Business Boost event will be taking place on Friday November 23rd at The Hive, Ely from 9:15am to 2pm.

Following on from the huge success of last year’s event, East Cambs Business Boost 2018 will bring together over 200 local SMEs through networking, business exhibition and keynote speaker sessions.

This year’s theme, ACTIVATE, is inspired by the modern fitness facilities at the brand new The Hive leisure centre, part of the Ely Leisure Village development. The event will help accelerate business growth for the East Cambs area with sessions that will help activate your sales, energise your team, move your business up the Google rankings and ensure your business is performing at its very best for future growth.

We are delighted that Sally Gunnell OBE DL will be the headline speaker at East Cambs Business Boost 2018.

Sally remains the only woman ever to hold four major track titles concurrently – Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth. Following her retirement Sally now mixes motivational speaking with running corporate wellbeing programmes.

With a fantastic line up of speakers, East Cambs Business Boost will also deliver engaging and insightful masterclasses from social media giants, Buffer; corporate wellbeing experts Westfield Health; and Sandler Training’s popular sales workshop.

The Speakers

Sally Gunnell OBE DL, Sally Gunnell Health and Wellbeing

Sally Gunnell OBE DL remains the only woman ever to hold four major track titles concurrently – Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth.

Sally’s rise to the pinnacle of her sport was hard won. She blew the chance to be World Champion in 1991, stormed back to win Olympic Gold in 1992 and defied incredible odds to become World Champion in 1993, setting a new World Record in the process. She contended with injuries, athletes that she saw as more naturally gifted and a relatively modest support infrastructure compared to her peers.

Her success, by her own admission, was down to a firm grip over her own mind and a lot of very hard graft…

Following her retirement from international athletics, Sally developed a new career as a television presenter and now mixes motivational speaking with running corporate well being programmes. Sally is also a high-profile supporter of healthy and active family initiatives in the UK.

In this Keynote session,  Sally will cover her journey from top sporting achievements, what she’s taken from that to achieve in business and life today:

•  How important wellbeing is for success at home and in the workplace

•  How to build resilience, enabling you to handle day to day life

•  How important it is to find balance in your life

•  How small changes make a big difference and why you should have goals, both short term and long term

•  Looking at the importance of general health & wellbeing

•  Practical advice, including tips & tricks to improve your wellbeing (health, fitness, diet & sleep)

•  What Sally has learnt from hurdles she faced in her sporting career and how she uses what she has learnt in both her personal life and her career today

•  Encouraging audience to look at their lives and identify what changes they need to make to increase their own wellbeing

Over four decades, Sandler has worked with tens of thousands of companies and we’ve learned a lot about business leaders. Most of them are passionate about their business, but find that getting others to share that passion is sometimes a challenge. Most of them really do want to move their company into the top rank, but they have learned firsthand that wanting it is not enough. Most of them work very, very hard—but after a while, they realise that, no matter how hard they work, something important seems to be missing. And they’re not quite sure what that something is.

Understanding your business blind spots is the first step to moving your company forwards in a sustainable way. In this session we will examine 5 common blind spots that limit the success of many companies.
